Primary goal

The GreenSphere Society at IGDTUW envisions a campus where everyone is aware of and takes responsibility for their environmental impact. We aim to foster a culture of sustainability where students, faculty, and staff are motivated to make environmentally conscious decisions in their daily lives.

Our mission is to build a community committed to reducing their environmental footprint and creating a sustainable future. We aim to promote sustainable practices and environmental awareness, educate and inspire individuals to take action, and foster a culture of environmental responsibility on campus and beyond.

Description

"Green Sphere" is the Environmental Society at IGDTUW, formed in October 2008, and led by dedicated young women under the guidance of Faculty Advisor Dr. Bhavani Prasad. The society aims to protect and conserve the environment by promoting awareness and understanding the impact of daily activities on ecological balance. It organizes activities and events to encourage greener practices among students. Some initiatives include sapling distribution on Orientation Day to welcome new students, poster-making competitions, plantation drives, and theme photography events, all focused on fostering environmental responsibility and awareness.
Students who care about the environment and want a sustainable future should join the Greensphere Society. This group focuses on tackling environmental issues and protecting biodiversity through creative and innovative approaches. If you’re interested in nature and sustainability, you’re welcome to join, share your ideas, and contribute to meaningful change. Being part of this society helps you develop a caring, responsible attitude and gain the confidence to make a positive impact on the environment.
